Affordable Housing and Pet Rescue with Kim Iffert, Crossroads Campus

Affordable housing and pet rescue, Crossroads Campus, shares the healing power of human animal relationships in episode 42 of the For Animals For Earth podcast.

Kym joins me from Nashville, Tennessee to talk about her work at Crossroads Campus, a multifaceted social enterprise with affordable housing and pet rescue.

Crossroads Campus includes internships, job training, a retail shop, a grooming facility, and humane education outreach, in addition to the affordable housing and pet rescue.  They bring together people and animals and through that strong human-animal bond have seen incredible transformations.

Kym and I talked about the work they do, how she got into it, and how we can help.  We also discovered a fun synchronicity!  We both went to Purdue University, which is fun in and of itself.  But we were also both in Alpha Gamma Delta sorority!  Just a few years apart.  Which literally blew my mind.  The world is so small sometimes!

I hope you enjoy our interview below.

2 Simple Ideas To Make a Difference:

1. WAIT FOR CONSENT.  When it comes to animals, they need to have a voice.  Before we start changing things, pay attention to what they are doing, their body language, and what they’re saying before we make a move.  This easily applies to humans as well. Patience. Stop. Observe.

2. DONATE & SUPPORT CROSSROADS CAMPUS.  Follow, like, share and donate to support the important work that Crossroads Campus is doing in Nashville (and hopefully many other cities in the future)!
