Do you use crystals for anxiety and depression? I’ve found two very simple ways to use them in my life when I’m feeling overwhelmed. I’d love to hear in the comments if you have tricks that you use too.
Before we dig in, a quick reminder to look for crystals that are ethically and sustainably sourced. To hear more about why this is important, listen to my interview with Nicholas Pearson in episode 15. My continually growing list of ethical and sustainable crystal shops can be found here.

CHAKRA CRYSTAL SET
My go-to crystals for anxiety and depression are a small set of chakra stones. Chakra stones match to the major chakras in our body.
If you’re not familiar with a chakra, it is an energy center. Imagine a vortex where energy circles, moving in and out of the vortex.
Our bodies have seven of these major vortexes that process energy, called chakras. You’ll often see them associated with a color from the rainbow.
Read more about the seven major chakras here.

1. Carry small crystal stones in our pockets.
When I’m feeling down, or even just a little off, I’ll put 1-2 small stones in my pockets. And wear them around for the day.
For me, this is often my green and red stones. My green stone works with my heart chakra. My red stone works with my root chakra. Bringing these two things into balance is an ongoing challenge for me: grounding, safety and security versus leading with love, compassion, and hope.
I use my intuition to decide which stone goes into which pocket (left or right pants pocket). And throughout the day I find myself more in balance.
2. Meditate with crystals on the chakra centers.
This is another one of my go-to methods for using crystals for anxiety and depression. When I’m feeling especially overwhelmed and just can’t push through the emotions, I step aside and use this trick. Laying down for just 15 minutes makes a huge difference. I can feel the energy swirl around and balance. And I’m often calm enough to stay for another 15 minutes! And then super productive after that because the energy has settled.
I generally like to meditate with pure quiet. But when my head is spinning, I just can’t do it. So, I’ll use a guided meditation or music, my favorite being Wakes. A diffuser with essential oils helps too.
Settle in, and place the seven crystals on their seven corresponding major chakras, up the center of the body.
- Red: even with tailbone
- Orange: below navel
- Yellow: above navel
- Green: center of chest
- Blue: on the throat
- Purple: in the center of the forehead
- White: on the floor behind me at the center of my head
Begin the meditation and feel the energy start to whirl. Let me know how this goes for you in the comments below.
