One Word. Mine’s FAMILY. What’s Yours?

To be in your children's memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today.

Have you heard of One Little Word?  I learned about it through Elise Blaha Cripe (link to her blog).  In a nut shell, you pick one word to encompass your goals for the year, with the thought that having just one word keeps it top of mind every day.

For 2017, my word is FAMILY.

Simple idea: choose your word for the rest of the year

Why am I sharing this with you?  Well, the simple reason… I think it’s an awesome tool that you may like too.

The complex reason… I find connecting with MY FAMILY is something I have to work at.  And by telling you, I’m more likely to hold myself accountable.

I’m embarrassed to say it, but it’s true.  I tend to schedule a million things into five minute slots and then get frustrated when my kids need my attention and I’m behind on my to do’s!  It’s not that often that I truly prioritize them.

So, I say this often, but developing the Trendy Little Sweethearts brand is a journey I'm on with you.

My goal is to discover (and create) simple and meaningful ways that WE can CONNECT WITH OUR FAMILIES through every day life.  Ideas that make that relationship easier (like owning clothes you AND your kids like) and products that help us connect by giving back to the world around us.

With this in mind, I love this idea of “one word”.  It’s something that you can do for yourself, and something you can inspire your kids to do for themselves.  Then you can track how you’re doing toward it each month throughout the year.  Together.

I’d love to hear if this resonates with you and you try it.

As always, thank you for being on this journey with me as we discover new ways to inspire socially-conscious kids.
